Technology is here!
We have had so much fun in our Non-Fiction Unit of study these past 5 weeks. We want to be able to share with you all the fun stuff we have created so...
Next week I will post the first installment of "Report Theatre." During our writing time, we have use iMovie to record our reports and make them digital. I will be posting them on the blog as we complete them. The kids have had so much fun reading something that they created. What a sense of accomplishment!!! You will be amazed at all the work these kids put into their reports to polish and publish them. Take some time to watch your student's report and praise them for all their hard work. They have just amazed me!
Also keep an eye out for pictures from our amazing trip the the Jacksonville Zoo. We had a great time!

Seplling Can be Fun!!!
Are you and your student struggling with the spelling words? Our grade level has discovered a great website that is free for you to use. It is called spellingcity.com. It has lots of fun games and puzzles that use the list of spelling words that are sent home each night. Starting next week there will be 2 ways to use the website. You can type the words in yourself or you can use the search tool to look up lists that I have saved. When you are searching for saved lists make sure that you include my name and the date on the spelling list. Allow your student to explore all the fun this website has to offer. I promise you will see a difference on spelling test. Again the website is www.spellingcity.com Check it out!

Welcome Back!
Wow! I can't believe that it is already 2008. As we get back into the swing of school we have a lot to cover before June. Please make sure that you are reading everything that your student brings home. The 2nd grading period ends on January 16th and report cards should go home soon after that. We will be having conferences to discuss your child's progress so far and how much we need to get done before June. I have been so impressed with how far these kids have come since August. Thank you for your continued support and keep reading!
